Sports
Sport is a vibrant and essential part of life at our school, offering students countless opportunities to get active, build teamwork, and discover their passions.
We provide sport lessons twice a week, aligned with the Australian Curriculum, ensuring students receive a well-rounded physical education that promotes skill development, fitness, and fair play.
Our school is equipped with a well-stocked sports shed, supporting a wide range of activities from team sports to individual challenges. We regularly update our equipment to ensure students have access to safe, modern, and high-quality gear for every activity.
To enrich our program, we apply for a Sporting Schools grant each term. This allows us to bring in specialist coaches, additional resources, and exciting opportunities for students to explore new sports and build confidence.
Throughout the year, we host specialist clinics led by visiting coaches. These clinics give students the chance to learn from experienced professionals and try new sporting disciplines. Recent clinics have included:
- AFL
- Golf
- Tennis
- Ultimate Frisbee
- Orienteering
- OzTag
- Netball
We also celebrate sport through gala days, where students come together in a spirit of fun, teamwork, and friendly competition. These events are a highlight of the school calendar and help build strong community connections.
In addition to our regular sport program, we proudly host three major school carnivals each year:
- Athletics Carnival – A day of track and field events that showcases speed, strength, and school spirit.
- Swimming Carnival & Water Fun Day – Encouraging participation and celebrating aquatic skills.
- Cross Country Carnival – A challenging and enjoyable run that builds endurance and determination.
A true highlight of our sporting calendar is the Boorowa Touch and Netball Carnival, where students represent our school in a regional competition filled with excitement, sportsmanship, and community pride.
At St Clare of Assisi, sport is more than just physical activity it’s a celebration of effort, inclusion, and growth. Every student is encouraged to participate, try something new, and enjoy the many benefits of being active.
